A Safe Way For Fools

Isaiah 35:8: And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

I am happy this passage is in the Bible because I have been a fool in many ways and when I walk in my flesh I am still one. Yet even I won*t be able to make a mistake on the way called The way of holiness. I won*t be able to get off it. I won*t be able to go astray. It will be perfectly safe and it is for me because I have been redeemed. A wise pastor of mine once said something like this: though there are dangers all around, the safest place for a Christian is in the center of the circle of God*s will for him.

Lowth: The meaning (as figuratively applicable to the Christian Church,) is, that the duties required of us by God are so plain and evident, that he, who sets himself to the practice of them, though he be of slow understanding, cannot but know them; . . .

Family Bible Notes: The highway of salvation, cast up by prophets and apostles under God*s direction, is both plain and safe. No honest inquirer after truth can fail to find it, or go astray after he has entered upon it. It is guarded on both sides by God*s presence and power, and all who walk in it shall finally enter the heavenly Jerusalem *with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads.*

Hall*s Explication of Hard Facts: It shall not only be civil and accessible, but holy and gracious: none shall dare to set their foot there, who are unclean and perversely wicked, but it shall be for those that are holy and conscionable; and the path shall be so beaten with frequent passengers, that those, which are otherwise simple and ignorant, cannot err therein.

1 Peter 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
